Parents of children to be baptised at St Sebastian's need to live in the parish or be on the electoral roll which means being regular worshippers at the church. (If you do not know whether you live in the parish, then please contact the parish office.)
At least one parent, and all the godparents, must themselves be baptised, and ideally godparents should also be confirmed. Certainly godparents should have genuine Christian commitment.
We find that many people asking for baptism for their children are uncertain about the true meaning of baptism, and perhaps even uncertain about the Christian faith itself. Whatever your Christian background we feel it is helpful for you to explore some of these issues before making a final decision about your child's baptism.
