Mityana
Youth Projects
Mityana, Uganda is our focus for mission abroad to support health, education and water provision in the area. We are supported in this by The Mityana Charity. Groups of young people from St Seb’s have travelled regularly to Mityana and have taken part in a number of projects. These include building at a health clinic, painting, renovating, and teaching in primary schools and organising fun days for children in a school for the deaf.
We have one major building project in an outlying rural area - at Mavuvumira Primary School where we are helping the community to build a school large enough for the local children and for use by the community. Our fundraising also goes to support a rural health clinic at Kyato, resources for Brilliant Vision primary school and St Mary’s school for the deaf. We have also provided water tanks and water filters to enable people to have clean water.
The next youth trip will take place in October 2011. For further details contact Debbie Harris at youth@stsebastians.org.uk
